Ron,
As you said, the current Shrike is a little uninspiring (para-phrasing :) )

I was thankful that both yourself and others provide such extensive and detailed tutorials and ideas.

Glad to see the one I did has given you a little inspiration. I've always been a little scared to try my hand at art or true scale so I'm interested in seeing how yours comes out.

I'm starting to think that I got very lucky with Urien! Having said that, I did as much checking out of the model before I bought it (in a GW store), so I stacked the deck in my favour!

First of all I haved used the picture of the Urien sprue in my blog post here: http://corvusminiatures.blogspot.com/2011/11/my-finecast-story-part-1.html to make a comparison between an old and a new sprue. I've given you full credit, but if for some reason you don't want your picture to be there, drop me a line (contact details on my blog).

Too bad the changes to the sprue didn't show in the final quality level, my Urien has bubbles all over.

Oh, that will be the real test for sure.

One of the more awesome attributes of Urien (in particular) is that some of the arms and things are extremely fine and fragile. And based on the reports I reckon the heat will be a real test, too.

Maybe I shouldn't paint him until afterwards ....
